Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 5th October 2026
These terms apply to purchases from Index of Truth. Please read them before placing an order and keep a copy for your records. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
1. About us
Index of Truth sells photographic artwork by Steve Kraitt.
The seller is Steve Kraitt trading as Index of Truth.
Business and correspondence address: 1 Barnfield Shaw, Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, West Sussex RH14 0GJ, UK.
Email: info@indexoftruth.co.uk
Telephone: 07779 299 058
2. Our prints
Our photographic prints are individually produced to order in Steve Kraitt’s studio on PermaJet Matt Plus 240gsm photographic paper, with a smooth matt finish, and checked before dispatch.
Unless the product description states otherwise, prints are open editions, unsigned and unnumbered, and supplied unmounted and unframed.
The product page specifies the overall sheet size, printed image dimensions and white border for the artwork. Dimensions are width × height. Please check these details before ordering.
Frames, mounts and other items shown in presentation images are not included unless expressly stated. We aim to represent each artwork accurately. Screen settings and viewing conditions can affect how colours and brightness appear, so the physical print may differ slightly from its on-screen appearance. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty or materially different from its description.
3. Placing an order
Please check your selected artwork, quantity, contact information and delivery address before completing checkout. Payment is required when ordering, using a payment method available at checkout. Your order is accepted, and a contract is formed, when we send an email confirming acceptance. If we cannot accept your order, we will contact you and refund any payment taken. If we identify a pricing or description error before acceptance, we will explain the correction and allow you to decide whether to proceed.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes. Standard UK delivery is included in the displayed print price. Any optional additional charges will be shown before you pay. We will not add charges without your agreement. Prices may change, but changes will not affect orders already accepted.
5. Production and delivery
We currently deliver to UK addresses only. Standard UK delivery is included in the displayed print price.
Each photographic print is individually produced to order in Steve Kraitt’s studio and checked before dispatch.
Dispatch: Within 3 working days of placing your order.
Delivery service: Royal Mail Tracked 48, with a delivery aim of 2–3 working days after dispatch.
Overall estimate: Please allow 5-7 working days from ordering to delivery.
Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Production time is separate from the carrier’s delivery time and is included in the overall estimate above. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and some locations may take longer.
We will email you when your order is dispatched and provide tracking details.
Prints are dispatched flat in a protective sleeve, with a stiffening board inside a corrugated artwork mailer.
Prints are supplied unmounted and unframed.
If we become aware of a significant delay, we will contact you. Unless we agree otherwise with you, delivery will take place without undue delay and within 30 days of accepting your order. This does not limit your statutory rights if we miss an agreed delivery deadline.
If your print has not arrived within the estimated delivery period, contact info@indexoftruth.co.uk, including your order number if available.
We remain responsible for the goods until they are delivered into your physical possession, or that of a person you nominate to receive them. Your statutory rights concerning late or failed delivery remain unaffected.
6. Cancelling an order or changing your mind
You may cancel an order for our standard prints without giving a reason, from the time you place it until 14 days after the day you receive it. If one order is delivered in separate parts, this period runs from receipt of the last item. Printing a standard artwork to order does not remove this right.
To cancel, email info@indexoftruth.co.uk or write to the address above with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. Please include your name and order number if available. You may use the cancellation form at the end of these Terms and Conditions, but doing so is optional. If your order has already arrived, send the goods back within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling.
7. Returns and refunds
Return prints to: 1 Barnfield Shaw, Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, West Sussex RH14 0GJ, UK.
For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for the return postage cost. Please pack the print securely, preferably using its original protective packaging, and retain proof of postage. Original packaging is not a condition of exercising your cancellation rights. You may unpack and inspect the print as you reasonably would in a shop.
We may reduce a refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to assess it, such as marking, cutting or damaging the paper.
Refunds will be made without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. If no goods were dispatched, we will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation.
We use the original payment method unless you agree otherwise, without a refund fee. We do not charge a cancellation or restocking fee, or deduct our original standard delivery cost where delivery was included.
8. Damaged, faulty or incorrect items
We are responsible for supplying goods that meet your statutory rights, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If your print arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, contact info@indexoftruth.co.uk as soon as reasonably possible. Your order number, a description of the problem and photographs of the print and packaging will help us resolve it. We will provide the remedy required by law, which may include a refund or replacement, and cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or incorrectly supplied.
Requests to report problems promptly or provide photographs do not limit your statutory rights. The change-of-mind cancellation period does not limit your rights concerning faulty goods.
9. Copyright and use of artwork
Purchasing a print gives you ownership of that physical print. It does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights in the image. Copyright in Steve Kraitt’s photographs remains with Steve Kraitt. Other website content belongs to its respective rights holders.
Except where permitted by law, images must not be reproduced, scanned for reproduction, published, distributed as copies, used on merchandise or commercially licensed without the relevant rights holder’s prior written permission.
For image licensing enquiries, contact info@indexoftruth.co.uk.
10. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or breaches of your statutory consumer rights.
11. Privacy and complaints
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information in connection with the website and your orders. For a question or complaint, email info@indexoftruth.co.uk or write to our correspondence address. Please include your order number where relevant and explain the issue so we can investigate and respond.
12. Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms for future orders. The version in force when you place your order applies to that purchase.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you retain the protection of any mandatory consumer laws applicable where you live.
Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
